Our annual Best of Building Skills NY fundraiser celebrates the gifted New Yorkers who have advanced their skills and careers through our program, as well as the employer and community partners who support their journeys. For this year’s event, held on October 1, we returned to National Sawdust in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. With the support of over 150 New York City workforce development, real estate, and construction leaders in attendance, we raised more than $250,000 for the local skilled workforce.

BSNY program participants Bradford Pace, Sanyette McKee, and Jeremy Calcano were honored with the Glenn Hilzen Building Futures Award for their exceptional career growth. Since completing their BSNY programs, this year’s honorees have made their marks as electricians, skilled laborers, and construction instructors. We’re proud to play a role in their story.

Matthew Klein – Chief Program & Impact Officer, The Robin Hood Foundation
For a decade, the Robin Hood Foundation has been an essential partner in BSNY’s mission to expand no-cost construction job placement and training programs for local job seekers. Robin Hood empowers New Yorkers by investing in BSNY and other organizations whose programs create permanent pathways out of poverty. We were thrilled to have Robin Hood’s Chief Program & Impact Officer, Matthew Klein, on-site to accept the Workforce Partner of the Year Award and deliver an inspiring keynote address.
